Our speaker this week: Susan Goodman Goldstein brought us an excellent speaker (not that our other speakers are not excellent as well), Natalie Jackson, PhD.  Natalie came to this area to work for the polling group at Marist College.  In May, Natalie left Marist and started working for the Huffington Post in their polling division (formerly Pollster.com).  Natalie is a Senior Data Scientist.  Her work currently involves collecting polling results from the various polling companies for a particular political race, analyzing the results and summarizing the results in a chart to give an overview of all the polling data.  She spoke about the many factors that need to be considered when conducting a poll.  When analyzing poll results you need to know who was polled; what questions were asked, and how many people were polled.  Our members asked Natalie many questions, which is a sign of a job well done!

Susan distributed a flyer to the members present, a copy of which can be found here:  https://clubrunner.blob.core.windows.net/00000002251/en-us/files/homepage/running-for-glenn-goldstein-part-1/Fred team 1.pdf and https://clubrunner.blob.core.windows.net/00000002251/en-us/files/homepage/running-for-glenn-goldstein-part-2/Fred team 2.pdf relating to Natalie Jackson running in the NYC Marathon November 2.  Natalie is running to raise funds for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in memory of Glenn Goldstein.  When you read Natalie’s story of her friendship with Glenn, you remember the great person we lost.
